Emma Willis confirms huge change to Celebrity Big Brother – and for once it’s not nasty – DigitalSpy.com

Celebrity Big Brother has just revealed a game-changing twist that might bring a smile to your face for the right reasons. For once.

Before Shaun Williams entered as the first housemate of the series during Tuesday’s (August 1) live launch, Emma Willis revealed that this year’s winner will actually receive a grand prize.

But they won’t actually be keeping the money! Instead, a charity of their choice will receive a whopping £50,000 from Celebrity Big Brother. At last, a nice twist!

The format shift harkens back to the first series of Celebrity Big Brother, which was actually held to raise money for Children in Need in a rare case of cross-promotion between Channel 4 and the BBC.

So good on you, Celebrity Big Brother. And tsk tsk for moments later setting a delightfully sneaky secret task for Barry off EastEnders, err Shaun Williams, designed to trick the rest of the house.

Just after entering, Shaun was called to the Diary Room and given a task that will tap into his past as one of the soapworld’s biggest stars.

“You will transform into the most nervous housemate in the history of Big Brother,” he was instructed in the Diary Room.

Throughout the night, he’d have to convince the others that he was getting more and more nervous with the arrival of each new face, all while completing a string of challenges.

All of this fun is unfolding on the two-hour Celebrity Big Brother live launch, which is followed on Channel 5 by Rylan Clark-Neal with Bit on the Side at 11.05pm and Live from the House from 12.05am.
